it varies depending on what resolution your going to use

the higher the resolution, the better the quality when printed
however the pixel dimensions go up

so if your working on a cover in 72 resolution
a cover in 300 resolution will be a hell of a lot bigger in pixels, but be printed the same size

therefore when you make your CD template
enter it in inches

do 4.75in x 4.75in
that way itll be the right size no matter what resolution

but i do reccomend doing it on a high one if you actually plan on printing it out, just so you get the best quality
