I read it in a book called "the Millenium and what to expect" where the testing procedure of weighing dying volunteers and observations there of are all documented. There are numerous groups and persons who have replicated this experiemnt for them selves and all of which have discovered that after the actual moment of death, the body loses weight that is not accounted for in the bodys normal processes of dying. One such persons findings, you can read up on it here:

Here's an excerpt:

The net result of the experiments conducted on human beings, is that a loss of substance occurs at death not accounted for by known channels of loss. Is it the soul substance? It would seem to me to be so. According to our hypothesis such a substance is necessary to the assumption of continuing or persisting personality after bodily death, and here we have experimental demonstration that a substance capable of being weighed does leave the human body at death.
If this substance is a counterpart to the physical body, has the same bulk, occupies the same dimensions in space, then it is a very much lighter substance than the atmosphere surrounding our earth which weighs about one and one-fourth ounces per cubic foot. This would be a fact of great significance, as such a body would readily ascend in our atmosphere. The absence of a weighable mass leaving the body at death would of course be no argument against continuing personality, for a space-occupying body or substance might exist not capable of being weighed, such as the ether.

"Ether" is a chemical (and probably the only chemical) that is found in every concievable form, gas, liquid, solid, and each can differ signifigantly. Every entity in our universe is made of one form of ether (9-ether, 6-ether, and so on) or another. As a matter of fact, the inky blackness of the universe is made from the carbon based 9-ether which gives the gas its black hue. Coal and therefore diamonds are also made from 9-ether. Even the melanin in your skin if you have any.
As for the electrical charge of ether, that has been documented in kirlian photography which is the source of every modern concept of "Aura" and the aura colors that we know of. Lifeless objects show different aura than that exact same object when living and even shows diffret colors of aura in one being based on factors such as their mood and health. Certain colors 'flair' during kirlian photography which "coincidentally" coincide with accupuncture pressure points that were discovered by the chinese 200+ years before science coincided with the imaging of "aura".
This "aura" is measured through the photography of ions in a process named for the scientist that developed it. You can read more about it here:
