I haven't seen the show, but I saw clips from it on Oprah. There was still tension between the two families. I was floored when the white mother said, "I thought black people called each other bitches." ???????? ummm...NO.

Then, the white father was about to go to church in a disheke (however you spell it). lol...ummm...NO.

White people who say ignorant things like the mother aren't racist, they just don't know any better. I went to school in Amish country. They rarely see black people out there. I chose to go to that school to give me a different perspective, being as though I live in a predominantly black area. There were a couple times when some of those white folk came out their mouths with jaw-droppingly dumb statements. But, most of the few blacks I went to school with were magnanimous enough to educate them without making them feel dumb.

I went to school with people who didn't know what extensions were. My friend Kamika had short hair on one day, but then had extensions the next day. So, this white chick was like, "OMG, how did your hair grow so fast?"

LOL...embarrassing...Then, when Kamika explained that she had extensions, the white chick wanted to feel all over her head...

lol

Kamika...I loved her...haaaa

Now, that's someone you don't want to get in an argument with. She = phew
