Open your mind bro...You've been taught that, but it isn't scriptural. Well, it's only partially correct. Look at what the scriptures say.
John 1: In the beginning was the word, and the word was with God, and the word was God.
The God-head consist of God the father, God the son, and God the holy Ghost, each equal in power with different roles. I like to describe the Trinity as an apple. Its ONE piece of fruit, but with 3 distinct parts: core, pulp, skin. I've had discussions with people who asked, "So, are you saying God is schizophrenic?" Not only are they clowns for being facetious, but that's not even what schizophrenia is. Anyway, God did create the heavens and the earth. I ask you though, how did he do it? I'll tell you. He did it by SPEAKING IT INTO EXISTENCE. Example: LET THERE BE LIGHT. That means the word. THe new testament teaches us that Jesus is the word of God. That's why John said: "...and the word WAS GOD." It then goes on to say how all things were made by him. He's referring to Jesus bro. So, Jesus is God.
