Utilize synonyms more frequently. Don't just use the word that comes to mind, use substitutes for it. After a while, you'll be able to coerce ANY word to fit what you're attempting to articulate.
Agreed...But, even with that, remember to remember the music of your verse. In other words, just because a word fits, doesn't mean it sounds right musically.
