J, some are some aren't. I think the most influential to us and the most influential to the mainstream listeners varies drastically. If you let someone listen to Nas and then listen to 50 Cent, I'll put money that the mainstream listeners will listen more to 50.
Pac was really basic, but his content was deep. So basic isn't that bad, it all depends on the content for me. I mean, if someone goes
'Yo we the best ready to freeze ya chest,
Breezin past the rest just to put ya on a test.'
but someone else goes
'Look through the window and imagine a better day,
Cuz as they say, 'Tomorrow is just another day away'.
I will go for the more basic but metaphorical writer. Just my preference, but ya. Don't say what will happen, cuz some people prefer simple stuff. Some prefer complex.
