unsolicited material = CD,s demos, etc that they didn't specifically request. meaning like anything that's mailed to them, handed to them, etc.

industry dosent' take stuff like that anymore to avoid anyone claiming they stole material that was submitted to them and used it in a song because lines/tracks/verses/concepts or what ever were similar.
