reason for that being?

for one..he's reading a tupac poem..tupac only talks about everyday struggles of a 'nigga' .your friend is white. and im sure he has never been through the same struggle that black men go through enough to relate. I understand he thought the poem was nice enough to recite but of coarse its going to look bad if he white.. if a black kid was reciting the poem people would understand the n word coming out of his mouth cus its NORMAL. having the N word come out of a white kids mouth is NOT NORMAL.

white people+The N word= never good even if its Nigga
Black people+The N word= Different. because the word is used in a nigga way..never nigger.
