That's what A&R's are for, or better still A&R companies, like Taxi or Circle of Songs, etc. etc.
A&R's tell you how to become more marketable, what to wear, shape your image etc., and not everyone's looking for that. They assign you one when you get signed, but you don't HAVE to get signed to have one. Far from it.

don't believe what you see and hear these rappers tellin you on TV man lmao, most of the rappers you've heard in your life are piss broke or are in DEBT from their deals. Labels don't GIVE you money. They give you a loan that you have to pay back that all your expenses come out of. Why do you think it's called an "advance"?
wait till you see what happens if you don't meet your sales target, or worse yet, get shelved. better have a great way to come up with the moeny you already spent, cuz the label's definitely gonna want it. and get it.
