This pisses me off about rape cases, part. this Duke one

IP:

They're doing what I and everyone else pulling for the victim said they'd do, and that's to portray her as an unstable liar. Man, I hate lawyers. Now, they're trying to show that 10 years ago, she reported another rape. Well, here's a shocker. What she did or did not do 10 years ago has nothing to do with what those boys did in that Frat house that night. Oh, something terrible did happen. The question is, to what extent? Attempting to discredit the validity of a claim by comparing or contrasting it to past behavior is justified, but cunniving in that it doesn't take into account what ACTUALLY happened on the night in question. It's wrong and I saw this coming 10 miles away. To make matters worse, the media publishes this information, swaying public opinion about the alleged victim. And, if anyone thinks this doesn't affect a jury, you're dead wrong. They have access to the outside world, point blank.

This is a travesty. But, if the lawyers of the accused want to play hardball, the victim's lawyers can do the same. One of the boys accused assaulted someone here in D.C. a few years ago. Therefore, based on what his lawyers are suggesting, then he's likely capable of committing such a heinous crime.
