Bush and Kerry are cousins. They both went to the same Ivy league school (Yale), and were in the exact same super-elite fraternity that mommy and daddy need connections to get you in. The same fraternity that less than 1% of the applied student body ever made it into. the same fraternity that nearly every US president has been a member of.
Their run for presidency is the equivilant of you and your cousin/frat brother/friend agreeing to have a battle, shaking hands wishing each other good luck and saying "may the best man win".
on the surface, they look like they're competing. In reality, they're on the exact same team and have been for years.
