The irony of singing the National Anthem in Spanish

IMO, singing the National Anthem in Spanish shows disregard to patriotism, and is ironic because of that fact.
The Senate just passed legislation barring any attempt to make a Spanish National anthem official.
I agree with them. When you go to Japan, you speak Japanese. English is part of who we are as a nation. I think it's disrespectful to the anthem to sing it in any language other than English.
