The subject matter flowed well as a book, but the main complaint in terms of the movie form is that is drags on. Critics feel that the director followed the book to closing, and that resulted in a boring moving that needed alot more punch concidering that now you have visual effective to help push the words along. They feel as if more risk should have been taking on the part of the director, and that he just made a very safe movie, which is very contradictory to the subject itself. I think people were just expecting this to be kind of its own thing even though it was based on The Da Vinci Code, rather than just a mirror image of its prior counter part. But, that is a critical opinion, to an average viewer I'm sure this will be a good movie... And expecial for those who didn't read the book and are just seeing the movie. I think the bad reviews are just artist to artist type of thoughts... They're not really all to relatable to a common person's idiology, so, they're somewhat irrelivant. The only real complaint I've heard among friends and stuff is that is does drag at parts, aside from that, a great movie.
