Put it this way. What was done to rock-n-roll might be done to rap. The difference is, rap's very nature stems from a culture far removed from the white majority--i.e., the 'hood'. Therefore, I don't expect to see a take over in rap like was done in rock-n-roll. The stereotypes are then encouraged and perpetuated because it sells. I told you. People are drawn to two things: beauty and wrecks. Beauty doesn't reflect the gritty "ghetto" life image. So, that leaves only one alternative, a wreck.
