The myth of all PORK being "HORRIBLE" for you...

IP:

Pork has gotten a bad rap over the years. While it's true that some pork can be high in sodium and sat. fat, lean/white pork is low in fat and provides a good source of protein. I personally would rather eat white pork than red meat. Beef is generally hard on the digestive system and stays in your digestive track for a long, LONG time.

Anyway, here is a cut of lean pork compared to a popular piece of poultry.

Boneless/Skinless Chicken Thigh

Calories......135
Fat.............4.4 grams
Sat. Fat..........1.1 grams
Sodium..................74 mg

Pork, loin chop

Calories......172
Fat.................7.4 grams
Sat. Fat..............2.5 grams
Sodium................51 mg

^^Yes, pork has slightly higher levels of fat and calories. But, it also provides variety in diet and gives you lots of protein as well.
And, truth be told, whole milk has more fat per serving than bacon!!!!!!!!!

^^^^^^Point is, variety in food isn't something to fear people. You just have to know what's in food and what your body can/can't handle.
