It's called being caring about others. You watch out for others, eventually they will do the same. This, 'only me' mentality is selfish and childish. It's what 10 year olds think.

Also, if she was some girl trying to support her family by going to college with a scholarship, but come to find out she has HIV and it turns into AIDS within 1 year, she will die within 5 years and her family is left hungry and unable to provide for themselves. Now, would you say you would turn your back to 5 starving kids around 1-3 years old? If so, please die cuz you are a horrible human being.
