Back in america I remember when I first started taijutsu, I had been doing it for a few weeks, but the shit that really got me motivated about it was I saw my teacher own the fuck out of some huge cunt. My teacher was a short asian man. What happened was this guy came along and he was huge.. I think he was about 19 or 20, and he was just coming along for one night to see how shit was. He was being arrogant and rude, and putting down taijutsu and my master and shit. Then teacher was like "OK. Well let us fight right now, first one knocked to the ground is the loser."

The guy, seeing as though he was muscly was confident he could knock down a small asian dude. The fight began, and niether one advanced for a while. The big guy finally made a move, it looked like he was trying to push teacher in the chest. My teacher grabbed one of the guys arms with one hand, leaned back to avoid the push, and blocked the punch the big guy threw after that with his free hand. Teacher gave him a knee to the stomach, then put his foot just above the guys belt, and threw him backwards with the help of his leg... Shit was insane. The guy wasnt hurt, but my teacher didnt even throw any punches or kicks... Just a little knee to the stomach while his abs were tensed. The guy lost and was pretty like... Pissed off and embarrassed. He left -_-.

Seeing that I was like whoa. Good technique owns power in most cases. But I guess power is enough, if all you want is to be ready for like random street fights.

A true master uses no pre-defined style or form.

I mean.......I can tell you straight up, the bigger guy made some fairly obvious mistakes in his opening moves probably due to inexperience...

Martial arts teaches different moves to use in different circumstances, but in a real fight, your only going to ever actually use one or two moves. And a lot of it is based on things like reaction times and natural ability rather than theory and technique. And its almost always better to be unpredictable.

Technique only takes you so far before you need the actual smarts to improvise on what youve learnt to adapt to actual fighting situations.

So while serbness pretty obviously is being ignorant and has absolutly no idea what hes talking about... He is kind of right......In an in-direct sense.
