Hip hop is far from some exclusive club, it's something everyone can be a part of, that's what's trippin me out. Brainwashed flunkies liek you are convinced that G-Unit is representative of "Hip Hop" and it sure as hell ain't.
And as an FYI, I was born in 1981. I grew up when the shit you read about was happening. I was watching it, listening to it, experiencing it. Seeing dudes with their boomboxes b-boying and breakdancing on the sidewalk doing backspins on cardboard. Up in the middle of the night rappin to these dusty ass tapes you can't even find anymore. You? You read highlights in a book. You seen pictures in a magazine. You watched re-creations of classic moments in Missy videos.
There's no comparison for that. It's the difference between seeing a city and taking in the sights with your own eyes, talking to the people and tasting the food, vs. someone looking at a map of that city and thinking they know it.
