Mainstream music is fucking wack. Most of it is just straight up garbage, Absolutely no effort went into making it, and what they get out of it is a bunch of dumbasses following trends and basically handing over their wallets. Mainstream music is music, but it is not good music. Underground music is wack sometimes, but a lot of the time its at least got an OK beat, nice flow and decent lyrics. I agree that undeground music is not suitable for clubs, it was not made to be danced to. I dont think ANYBODY on RV would say that underground music should be played in clubs.
But wtf @ mainstream music. Shit beat, shit lyrics, shit vocals, shit flow. wtf is good about it? Nothing at all is good about 99% of mainstream music. It SUCKS. Musically, it IS NOT GOOD MUSIC. It is not melodic, it is droning and repetetive, it sends a bad message to the public which just fuels the already imminent demise of this society by degrading women, promoting premiscuity and violence, and raising a bunch of no-minded idiots.
You might say "youre dumb, people like mainstream music, just cos u dont dusnt meen its bad." It's called adaptation. Every human does it. If you sit someone in a room, and play a horribly bad song over and over again, by the time they leave the room they will love the song. Same goes for food, if someone eats a food they hate over and over again, they no longer hate the food and actually would prefer it over other foods.
For years, all that has been on the radio and all that has been on MTV is complete trash. By now, record companies have succeeded in making the general public LOVE complete trash. Mainstream music, listen to the shit, its all basically the same thing but slightly different. Anyone could jump on the bandwagon and make millions. For example, will smith. My guess was he was running low on millions, maybe had only like 50 million left, so he in about half an hour wrote down some shit, the next day went and recorded a song. He is a smart man. He listened to what was on the radio and what was popular, and copied but made it slightly different. Next thing you know he is millions of dollars richer, without doing diddly squat.
Mainstream music is SHIT music. It does a bad job at being music, and if you were even slightly musically literate, you would be able tosee its faults in an instant. And im not talking like just knowing a lot about music and listening to it a lot and knowing artists lives and shit, im talking musically literate, as in studied music theory and composition and shit, or are at least slightly aware of it.
