Theres a few contradicting takes on this given in the bible..

1. What Q has been saying, give a % of your income to the church and you'll be blessed.
2. Give all you have, and thats better than giving what you can spare. (Wealthy guy vs poor lady story)
3. Money and worldly things are not important, and should not be of concern. The bible says that God will look after you, and you dont have to worry about anything. (Matthew 6)

So wtf. It looks as though some of these are those parts of the bible that have definitely been tampered with.
