Well basically, you'll find that the majority of people who started at places like this have a better knack for writing lyrics, and are more knowledgable about the process of making tracks. What they lack in is freestyle ability, because they never need to use it.

Usually it starts with writing text lyrics, which develops abilities is wordplay and makes their vocabulary a lot bigger... Then when they move to audio they have to change their flow up so it works over a beat, but the niceness of the lyrics carries over. They have to learn about audio equipment, and how to edit tracks to get their shit to sound good. A lot of this info is easily found around forums and shit.

With guys that start offline, they are usually better freestylers and their lyrics are more simplistic. Also, they dont know the first thing about recording their stuff unless people teach them or they look it up.

Thats generally the difference...
