BUT then I removed that cable I called the XLR lol, and then I COULDN'T hear myself thru my headphones anymore.
but then when I recorded (still had those cables in that I shouldn't of) I actually got it to record this time, but there was horrible noise in background as well. That like flatline sound was there too. But atleast my mic was pickin' up my voice. Then I took out that cable, and it wouldn't record at all.
iunno could it possibly be that my laptop is just fucked up? I'ma have to try with this computer I'm using right now

spul....listen very clearly...
i'm not gonna sit here and explain my self but see how the input you're plugged into hs the picture of the guitar?
and see how the one you're NOT plugged into has a picture of a mic? now since you're recording from a mic not a guitar... which one of those do you think you need to be plugged into....
I'm not guessing at anything Im saying man, I'm beyond sure. The guys at Guitar center only know how to tell you how to hook up...GUITARS!!! The instructions you got are correct for hooking up...GUITARS!!! not mics. The shityou have set up now will never work for the reasons i said above man, I'm not guessing.
