Who's played it?

I pre-orded before hand and got mine last night.

Pretty sweet game so far...it plays a lot like Final Fantasy XI, which is very different for the series. But the battle system has been really done up from FF XI...and the License System and Gambit System is pretty awesome.

Story-wise, it reminds me of a cross over between Star Wars airship battles, with a dash of Lord of the Rings-style characters, and a plot that sounds like it was written by another famous fantasy author.

Very European (the enemy Imperial Guards have Scottish accents).

My only complaint: lead man (or shemale, depending on how you look at it) Vaan sounds and looks like a total fag. His brother Reks was much more masculin, but he (SPOILER!) dies and you only get to play as him for about 10 minutes.
