You do realise that the professionals are originally masters of one particular martial art, then according to any weaknesses in that style they train in other martial arts to fill any gaps. Never once do they attempt to learn "mixed martial arts", they specialise in each style and find good teachers that know their style very well. After this they end up using mixed martial arts in fights. Other mixed martial arts just take a few moves from various styles = far less effective form of mixed martial arts.


Umm take someone that has trained one form of martial arts for the time period that I have trained MMA, and I would put a hefty bet on me being more effective.

I train in Iowa... at an academy that has produced a UFC fighter... and have worked out with several of the Miletich fighters...

So I know "the professionals" and they mostly came from my background...
