It's actually called Black Friday because Thanksgiving is on Thursday. What are the specs for the laptop? My dad told me about this laptop that walmart has for $398 http://www.walmart.com/catalog/prod...duct_id=5238476 that is available right now. Laptops nowadays are pretty cheap compared to 2 years ago when I bought mine. Similar specs, but only 256mb of ram and an athlon64 3000 and it set me back $1k.

As for getting the Black Friday laptop/computer deals, expect to get there early and waiting in line for the store opening. There are some crazy ass people who start waiting in line at like midnight or something too. I'm not sure how they will be doing it at best buy, but some stores either give out vouchers to the people at the front of the line, going down the line and asking what you are there for or they just open up the doors and people stampede over and start grabbing stuff. All the good stuff is limited too since they want you in the door and hoping you'll buy something else. Good chance that the laptop deals will be gone if you aren't there for the opening since they are always in demand. Start checking www.fatwallet.com and the black friday type sites that popup in the next couple weeks for scans of the ads.

Last year, I hit up Fry's and just got there right after the doors opened at around 5am. I heard the line of people waiting for the store to open was all the way to the sides of the building. The stuff I was getting, they had tons of, so I got all the stuff I was there for. The line to checkout went all the way around the building and back to the front. By the time I got back home it was 7:30. I don't really need anything this year, but I might just go for the hell of it since I'm already up anyways...
