mime, i used to be a hardcore christian kid. heads of my church really took me in, i was leading youth groups and all that, and i even considered becoming a minister. then...i read the bible cover to cover and after that i had more questions than i had answers. the bible's great as "snapshots" or rosey colored quotables or any other limited view phrasing, but once you read the whole thing you see it's just a patchwork of contradictions. the further i read on the more i was like "wait...but didn't you say...". one minute one thing's shameful. the next minute, it's the way to live.

you come to a lot of realizations after a turning point like that. this track was just the beginning. questions are always the beginning.


and Jack, that's word man. some people would say i should do more tracks like this, and i agree. but i know something they don't. if i do more tracks of this depth, i'll never stop. they'll all be deep, and i don't want to be known as just a deep artist, or just one of anything, so, i do it all.
