How is it different at all?

You should have MORE compassion for them. They are so lost, suffering so much that they killed a large number of people. Don't think of it as the same kind of love you have for a girlfriend or family member. This is a different kind of love, an unfaultering, unconditional love for all living things. I'm not saying its easy to do, im saying thats what you should strive for.

When I think about my enemies and those "evil" people, I think whoa, they are so miserable and they dont even know it, they have never experienced true happiness. How could I not have compassion for such a poor person? I find myself wishing I could help them in some way, having a sort of "love" for them.
