Just upgrade your soundcard, get better speakers or headphones, maybe a new mic, and a good recording program which you could probably get a copy version of it. Musician friends is a good site for getting recording equipment or try e-bay or maybe see if someone is upgrading their stuff and buy their shit for cheap.
