beat's hot
spul sounds soft on the come in. i dunno if its the mic or the mixing, but just doesn't have impact. same on the adlibs. zone comes in strong. had a lyrical and flow flat spot in the verse about 4-6 bars in that lasted for about 4 bars, then got back on track again. hooks hot, i just don't like the mixing on it, sounds flat and hollow. spuls lyrics in the second verse are nice, well thought out, well flowed, well written, i just don't like the delivery. too sing-y. sounds like you'er singing the lyrics not rappin em which is a shame. prah comes in strong, just the mixing is flat as fuck, voice needs to pop and sound more dynamic on the beat, makes it easier to listen to and keeps the attention more. i mean the volumes are right, just the mixing isn't. and it's not the vocal recording, it's flat spots in the mic and in the mixing. prah's ender on the verse should have been more impactful and close the song out on a dropkick instead of a jab.
its a "good" song now, but with adressing those minor issues the shit woulda been straight up fire. a cuttable single for sure. and that's real talk as always.
out of curiosity, what mics do you guys use?
