Criticism: Is this a blog? HELL YEA...so, step in or STFU!

IP:

Okay, anyone who drops tracks regularly knows that you're going to get "good" feedback and "bad" feedback from people. By "good" feed, I mean that the track was received well and people actually liked it. By "bad" feed, I mean that it either flopped from the original purpose of dropping it, or people in general simply thought it was wack. I would think everyone would like for their tracks to be received with open arms. But, this isn't always the case. I guess what I'm trying to say is, I hate when people call something I worked hard on wack or say it isn't this or that. My music and anything else I work on is like my "baby". So, when people shoot my work down, it feels like their insulting my child or something...And, the natural response would be to defend it. But, I've gotten to the point where I've learned to even take something from the "bad" feedback to elevate in some area.

Well, we all know that it's pointless to get upset over criticism. But, if that's the case, why do we do it at some point?
