^^That's possible! Normally, the govenrment takes out about 27-30% of most people's checks. However, they take out more or less depending on what you claim on your refund...If you claim "0" like I do (single/no kids/etc) they take out more money during the year. if you claim "1,2,3" or more (kids/live-in relatives) they take out less during the year. However, when you file your taxes, you can "write-off" almost any expense that the government has to repay you for. For example, they may ask "do you use ur vehicle for business?" If you answer "yes", you can get a refund for the amount of GAS you paid for--though it won't be the full amount. If you donate to charity of give clothes away to the Goodwill, you can get money back from that as well. The only proof you have to have is receipts. But, the IRS won't check unless it's suspicious. They call that an AUDIT. When they audit you, you have better have PROOF of all that you claim on your tax return. Otherwise, they'll want their money back and your ass is prolly going to jail.

But, if the gov. takes out, let's say, 8 thousand in taxes over the year, u'll get something like 1-2 thou back. It depends though.

P.S. I just got my refund yesterday!
