Copyright Infringement is one of those crimes that we writers take VERY SERIOUSLY ... and guess what ? ... the court system takes them serious too ~~
Monetary damages are usually the best way to compensate the one whose work has been stolen and ... my lawyer just LOVES it when we get more $$$ !
