well the short look at my 2 step mixing process looks like

vocals --> 36 band EQ (pre) --> compress --> 3 band EQ (post) --/-> export into second step program --> *this step's a secret* -->EQ (to fill) --> soft limiter to target RMS --> 5band compress --/->export back to orig program for final mixdowns --> export completed track to itunes --> convert to mp3.

then, provided everything meets my standards, deliver to the client and onto the next job.
