and they don't usually do dorms just for freshman, they pair you up with freshmen, they don't have whole dorms or floors set asside for freshmen..i've never even heard of that.
and as far as bums in ny having better boxes than this dudes dorm.
i don't think that's possible, if they did.
I think they would qualify for "poor". and not be considered a bum.

i go to a major division 1 school (UNC), and the term "freshman dorm" is common... it doesn't mean its ALL freshman, but its the dorms most freshman are PUT in... and they're usually the shittiest b/c seniority = better chance at better dorms.
and i'm sure the dorms at all those schools are the same as at mine in that they're all different, you can't generalize from what you've seen how shitty or nice all the dorms at a school are... there are dorms built at different times and in different locations all over campus. for example, the "freshman dorms," if you will, here are shitty and have no AC and look like the projects, but they're fun as hell b/c of the people... but then there are some brand new dorms built right in front of those that are nice as hell with AC and everything. so if you would have gone in that one, you would say the dorms at UNC are nice as hell... you can't judge all the dorms at a school as being nice or not nice, they're all different.
