god gave us free will so that way everything wasn't determined...he knows we have choices in life...but he gave us free will to choose what path we want...he knows not what we will choose

he knows everything man...if he didn't know what path we'd chose then him being an "all knowng God" would be perhaps the biggest hypocritical thing i've ever heard...God doesn't make our choices for us...but thats coz he already knows what our decisions to every minor/major thing will be...that means he already laid out a path for us to FOLLOW. Not chose...
