ive learned a lot since my confirmation teacher screamed and cursed at me man. i couldn't believe someone could come to tears over open ended questions that don't attack them what so ever. but in reality in my search for information, highlighting all these inconsistencies that confused me, i was spreading apart huse gulfs in my teacher's own beliefs. she was borderline on a breakdown and shared with me that her "be-lie-fs" are what tricked her into being happy after she was raped by an uncle as a child. she liked to believe that there was some cosmic justice out there for the persons that wronged her and that they didn't just get away with it, and it really appeased her to believe it. religion is a victims disease. something to help them find comfort in powerlessness.

so, i stopped piercing her with those painful javelins called questions and seeked information my self. by gaining knowledge and coming to painful i'm-not-a-victim realizations i armed my self with true power and became the god that your "god" says i am.

Exactly, you wonder why religions have extremists (not YOU, just “you” as in a general person) it's because people need religion to be happy and live their life. So anything that tries to discredit their religion is taken as a personal attack to their humanity. That's why people who strongly believe in religion get so damn touchy about it when you ask them questions. They need faith to feel like they actually have a purpose in life. They need it for a lot of different reasons. When you can learn to be independent and not have to rely on anything but your own self to make you happy and positive, that’s when you stop living a lie, that’s when everything becomes clearer, and that’s when you become a stronger person. I believe you can still do this and have faith in religion, but if your faith is all you depend on, and you’re tricking yourself into believing it can’t possibly be wrong and have flaws, you’re never going to be free.
