First go to a site like tinypic.com or imagetitan.com. Photobucket works too but you need an account.

Then upload your picture.
And take the url, but only the url, nothing that has a code in it.
And paste it in between the quotation marks.

Edit: by the way, it wasn't working cause the code you use for sigs isn't the same as the one on myspace. The one for sigs is just a msg board code, not an html tag.
