Stagnant rain drenched and poured denying escape
Surival of fittest? even bodybuilders died from fate
Endulging the pain, with a crowbar, I chisseled the door
And the wood began to split into chips, the bolts torn
the water level rose, the high winds caused rapid flooding
Water stains appear on the inner rug, appeared to be muddy
I grabbed some eccentric possesions & queried my bank statements
Suddenly, a brisk flusk of H20 abrupted the door in a cadance
I dashed to the door and began Sprinting down the rear stairwell
Blisters and wounds engulfed my hands and left a mildew smell
I stood frantic, but didn't panic, and called the 911 number
In the meanwhile, storm clouds darkened, producing more thunder
At this point, electric static was prevolent, as lighting emerge
Electrical synergy, reflected off rubber & spiked into the dirt
Glancing through the peep hole, more choas appeared outside
Question? Should I withold my position or find a place to hide?
Mentally, I was aware, but phycially; I was fatique with distraught
and thoughts were apparent that continued to surpress the onslaught
Gradually, I nailed boards to the door to keep the hedges shut
I relinquished door knob, water desended to soak the carpet up
Openning closet door, I threw down towels to the staturated floor
By this flooded water reached 2 inches, increasing even more
Water level didnt decrease until I openned the the basement door
Within hours, the wooden floor appeared rotted and show signs of age
I calmed down from rage, the news debutted on front of newspaper page
