now what does it take to be a true lyricist?
i listen to the songs that we make, and the verses are spiritless/
"Trap or Die", man are ya'll hearing this/
(Young Jeezy)
we're feeding youth with our ignorance/
how can you live with this?

hip-hop used to set us free from transgressions/
"speak up, express yourself, do not be silenced"
but now all i hear and see is hip-hop giving one message/
"kill your people, disrespect your race, and solve your problems with violence"
youth are our influence,
so now grown men become childish/
hoping that youth buy their music,
their lyrics are garbage/
because they take out wisdom, there's no value in their songs/
i ain't trying to be a hater but the spirit of hip-hop is gone/
so now our nation is falling
CAN YA'LL NOT SEE WHATS WRONG?
they say hip-hop is dead, thats not far from the truth/
and for those who aid in the killing, we must keep far from the booth/
"FUCK IT" when you see them coming put some bars on the booth!!!!!!/
the spirit of hip-hop is
"intelligence,strength,struggle,unity,freedom,and obtaining power with words"
so choose your lyrics wisely, because they define you/
