That's what I'm sayin'. I'd understand if there wasn't any room either, but there was empty cages. I remember one time my mom was going to get this beagle from the pound, we had taken her for a walk and showed alot of "interest" in her. We were going to come back the next day and get here. So I went in and looked for her only to find out she had been put down. That's happened twice (while there were still empty cages).

And I'm not saying "man, it's fucked they're killin' dogs." I know you can't keep a dog at the pound forever. But I was under the impression that the HUMANE society was a place that would give animals a chance to find a home and do whatever they can to help. Not put young dogs down when they had empty cages.
