I do 2 - 3 hour sessions (Only 2 hours max weighted)
And I only do them on one portion of the body at a time..
Legs monday
core tuesday
upper body wednesday
plyometrics thursday
speed friday
saturday is on ice and a small workout of cardio / speed
It is unhealthy for your muscles to work out for 4 hours and have a full body workout. you do more harm than good, as your muscles need time to regenerate and rebuild themselves. doing a full body workout is the worst possible method to working out, as ALL of your muscles will be broken down / tired and will be in need of regeneration. If you work out the next day you wont gain much from it. If you workout 3-4 days later you may be alright but that time off is just wasted, when you could be working on another portion of your body. its best to break down your workout schedule to an area a day so you get ample time to regenerate your muscles.
