well you can probably add any alcohol you like, but brandy is the typical that you can probably buy when you purchase alcoholic eggnog pre-created,

but the last time I had it, it was simply vodka and eggnog. That's because for some people, vodka tastes like water, on a side note, I've been told by friends that rum is good with eggnog.

Which reminds me of captain morgans because eggnog contains spice in some cases.

So I'll say try vodka, captain morgans rum, or a brandy of your choosing.. =)
