And aside from that, a majority of the processed food in the U.S. is "kept fresh" by showering it in salt before it gets packaged. That slows down the decomposition process, even after the food has been re-exposed to oxygen.
In other words, there is too much sodium in the diet of someone who eats previously prepared and packaged foods on a daily basis, and that is the speculative reason that Americans have so many heart attacks.
The funny fact in all of this is that other countries are starting to accept America's way of handling food. We won't be number one in heart attacks for too much longer..
