I suppose what other people think about what you look like would make a person feel better, if that's what a person needs, to feel better about themselves.

Whereas some people who were born terribly ugly get rich, find that their desires in being wealthy aren't met, and then they finally find that their desires are met, when they start a family.

Or even, give a large chunk of their money away and only leave enough for them to survive.

Or even, start writing books and literature.

But for people like you, no, it's much more shallow. It's simply, "In a world where there are other people, I need to satisfy what they think of me visually, or else how can I ever be satisfied with myself?"

Go ahead and continue to survive your satisfaction on everyone else's opinion. Even the most beautiful people don't realize they're beautiful until they walk out of the cave and into the town.
