False. I think 2 years and 8 months is what he's currently up against, but to my knowledge the trial hasn't even began, they got it pushed back another couple of weeks (more or less) yesterday.

Really, the whole case is contingent on what Rihanna says. Depending on where you get your news, some places are saying she'll testify against him, others say she'll testify that it was her who started the whole thing, in which case Chris gets to claim "self defense" and get off pretty much free. We'll see what happens though, my hunch is that Rihanna does eventually testify against him, and Chris sees a bit of time in jail.
