and no, the english invented modern day soccer type football, whereas America evolved modern day rugby type football.
The term soccer actually did come from England... but when Americans said "Football", they didn't mean foot + ball.. hence my extremely pumped up and in-your-face explanation to point out that American football is better in the aspect that it's American, and people who take pride over the Foot + Ball theory need to keep quiet instead.
