in preparation for a show like the Zulu gig... i mediated three times a day... listened to my instrumentals regularly and recited my set to my self every chance i could... The performance... i did sober w/ the exception of a lil cold meds i had in my system cuz i had bronchitus .... but... yea... sober is the way to go when you have a major show and your performing by yourself... if you have hype men... then you can drink a lil.... but to answer your question as to ... if i perform w/ a back track the answer is no... i just rock wit the instrumental w/ the dubs and hook mixed into the record....

best advice i can give... is to feel yourself... if you dont... neither will the audience... ...connect with the audience and your 4sho gonna rock it.
