For an F chord I find it easiest to put your 1st finger over the entire first fret, but if it's easier for you just put it over the first fret of the B & E strings. Place your 2nd finger on the 2nd fret of the G string and your 4th finger on the 3rd fret of the D string and 3rd finger on the 3rd fret of the A string.
The strings you're holding are basically an E one fret over with the entire first fret covered obviously with different fingers though.
