Lil Wayne Being Sued
IP:
Lil Wayne is being sued for $500,000 (£338,000) by the producer of his 2007 hit 'A Milli'.
Shondrae Crawford, who produces under the name Bangladesh, said he is taking the rapper to court because of unpaid royalties. He told Vibe.com that he felt the only way to get the money owed was to sue Wayne’s label Cash Money, questioning the company's payment policy.
"Cash Money don’t pay royalties," he claimed. "'Tha Carter III' [Wayne's 2008 album] [is] his biggest album probably because of 'A Milli'. You have to sue these guys so that they pay up."
He added: "All the money from album sales goes to Cash Money. I get cheques from Sony for Beyonce, checks from different labels for different artists, it just comes to you. You don't have to call them, sue them and all that junk. This is what you're owed."
Lil' Wayne is currently incarcerated in Rikers Island prison, New York for gun crime.
