As i sit in a breifing room with a General on my back
i think back to tell him the accident that had happened in iraq
when we were in our FAV's* takin out SCUDS*
but now this incident is known as Shroud of Blood
we were dropped in samolia on a Search and Destroy mission
to take out the gov. leader, and all opposition
but sumthin went wrong, civilians with automatic weapons
tossing gernades at the humvee where i was positioned,
i watched SGT Gomez get hit with a LAW* rocket
so i slammed in my clip to my H&K and cocked it
i opened fire on women and children, all the time crying
cuz the children had guns too, everyone was dying
we dropped 37 opratives of Delta Force, and 12 Rangers
but out of the 49 soldiers, im the only one to escape danger
i saw the Black Hawk that dropped us hit a sand dune
as well as a pile of bodys of women who met their doom
i then felt a sharp pain in my right leg and shin
so i looked down, i was shot by a young kid
my militant mind told me to fire on the lad
but my heart wouldent let me, and he shot LT Silvstad
and from the sand dune i heard 50 Calibur rounds
PFC Frans made it and was sniping into the town
but he was shot and all of this battle took 3 hours
my adrenaline was dry but it didnt make me a coward,
when i saw the Black Hawk drop, on a roof top
all the way the the building i fought
running harder than ever before still firing a pistol
if i saw you in my sights, u can bet that i shot at you
the BlackHawk liften off, but was hit by a stray mortar
but we limped back to base 10 miles off the shore
i was the only one picked up, the only one to survive
i thank the lord i have my life, but think of those who died
when we cleaned up we found 13 operatives still alive
but when we got back to the states we had to keep quiet
the Clinton administratio wouldent let us tell of our operations
Delta Force today is still denied by the govermentations
clinton didnt visit us till we got sum publication
so he came to the hospital and shook our hands, but wouldent face us
2 MOH* were handed out that year, to PFC frans and to LT Silvstad
and a shower of Silver Stars i got 1 of em, but i still feel bad
i look back on the women and childrens faces
when they were shot at and died in thier places
i recovered but i know a guy who lost his sight and hearing
id rather die than not be able to hear things
i gotta militant mind, and im still with the military
and now everytime i hear of a war threat its scary
i got reoccuring dreams of the mini war in the middle east
but maybee my brain washd militant mind will put me at ease




sorry it wasent 72 that was project eagle this incident took place in
'91, the movie Black Hawk Down had a few tidbits of this battle in it
